It's amazing how over Facebook I am, considering only mere months ago I was screaming TAG IT! to people literally as they were taking a picture I was in, and thinking of clever little status updates daily that would keep me present in everyone's Newsfeed. Being in PR, admitting I'm over Facebook could be career suicide, but maybe it just means I'm growing up and don't care about getting attention or approval from other people as much, which, as everyone knows, is why college students use Facebook. Obviously some people are able to use Facebook for less self-absorbed reasons after college and can make a graceful transition, I just don't happen to be one of them. Not to mention the gobs of people who never used Facebook in college and have developed healthy adult Facebook lives.
Note: I am really interested in social media for marketing purposes and am not over Twitter or Linkedin yet, so maybe my PR career can be salvaged.
My sole purpose for Facebook now is to look at peoples' wedding pictures. Incidentally, I may start a wedding inspiration blog, but with wedding blogs out there like http://greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com/, I feel inadequate. My first step in creative blogging will be to find a cuter template for this blog and use unique fonts. If my blog entries stop, it's because I didn't find a cute template worthy of my text. This isn't to say that my text will be that good, just that it'll be an exercise in humility-- the template must be worthy of me sacrificing my pride. Which brings me to the purpose of this blog-- to write lengthier versions of what I would've written in a status update. Probably still to get attention and seek approval, but in a way more grown up way.
